TOWN OF CAMPBELL, Wis. (WKBT)- Folks had the opportunity to have coffee with a cop.

At Castaways on French Island this morning, Chief Andrew Gavrilos hosted the event.

Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together for some coffee.

The event is more than just coffee, the idea is to bring everyone together to discuss issues and learn more about each other.

“I think it’s no more important than it is right now to humanize the badge and allow people to see that we’re just people. We’re husbands, we’re wives, we’re fathers,” said Campbell Police Chief, Andrew Gavrilos.

Coffee with a Cop was launched in Hawthorne, California in 2011, as a result of a brainstorming session.
