NANNING: His fervour to promote white coffee to people from the Middle Kingdom meant that he had to go through five Covid-19 nucleic acid tests and spent two months running around to get the approval to leave Malaysia for China.

But for Malaysian businessman Ken Chai, 33, it was worth the trouble.

He is here for the 17th China-Asean Expo (CAEXPO) to promote Malaysian white coffee products.

“This is the seventh year I’m taking part in the exhibition.

“I do not want to miss the opportunity because China is a vast market for Malaysian white coffee, ” he said.

Chai said the expo had helped his business to grow over the years and most of his distributors were connected via the annual event.

He noted that coffee consumption was rising in China.
