GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — The ladies who own Root2Rise Coffee Bar & Juicery say when you come and try their smoothies you’re not only supporting local, you’re also supporting your own health.

“It’s all organic, fresh and local produce,” said founder Elaine Mitchell. “It’s not powders. Everything’s organic. It’s hand-crafted. We make our own syrup for the coffee (and) we make our own soups.”

Mitchell reassures future customers that just because the menu is made for health doesn’t mean they’ll miss out on taste.

“It still tastes like a treat, but it’s all good for you,” she said.

The duo called the coronavirus pandemic a blessing in disguise because it forced them to think about what else they could bring to the table for customers. They added coffee from BrickHouse Coffee Co. just before the pandemic caused restaurants to shut down. Mitchell says, as a result, they’ve turned their juice bar into more of a cafe.
