Coffee County has a total of 417 confirmed COVID-19 cases, as of Aug. 3, according to the department of health. The number of active cases is 223, and 192 people have recovered. Two deaths have been reported in the county.

The active cases are 0.39% of the Coffee County population. The active cases were 0.41% of the population on Aug. 2, and had been steadily increasing for several days.

That percentage was 0.39% on Aug. 1.

If the number of active cases is between 0.5% and 1%, the spread of the virus is considered moderate, and schools will adjust their schedules, and implement a combination of on-site and distance learning.

If the active cases exceed 1% of the population (565), the spread would be considered substantial, and distance learning will be fully implemented. No students will be in the school buildings.
