(Willmar MN-) A crew of 3 or 4 volunteers placed the Willmar Kaffe Fest Coffee pot on it’s cement slab outside the Kandiyohi County Historical Society Museum at 10 this morning. Benches will be added in the future, and Historical Society Director Jill Wohnoutka says she hopes the 9 foot tall 70-year-old relic of Kaffe Fest parades gone by will become a destination for tourists and natives alike…

…The pot was used in parades for 3 decades to represent Willmar’s standing as the coffee capital. Every year a new logo was painted on it depicting sponsors and other info. In the 1960s the pot had seen better days and it was retired to the Stan Liedman farm near Grove City were it was used as a child’s playhouse and chicken coop. But in 2018 it was rediscovered,…
