Talking tackle and equipment at Saturday’s ‘Coffee with Captains’

STAFF REPORT

This week’s topic at “Coffee with Captains,” to be held this Saturday, March 14 at 8 a.m., is “Tackle & Equipment.” The talk will cover multiple styles of tackle used for the Boca Grande fishery, from live bait to fly fishing, rods to reels, and leaders to lures. It will be held at Scarpa’s Coastal on the patio.

This is a weekly series of casual gatherings over coffee hosted by Capt. Tommy Locke Outdoors, to discuss topics that matter to anglers, captains, and conservationists. Locke is a long-time islander and local fishing guide who will host this question/answer forum. Discussion topics will include what’s happening with our water, angling techniques, handling fish, boat etiquette, and protecting our delicate fishery.

Everyone is invited, and there is no charge.
