MIDDLETOWN — Police said they gave a local coffee shop a supply of N95 masks and COVID-19 home test kits this week, after a customer allegedly threw the shop’s complimentary masks on the ground and stepped on them.

Police said the incident occurred at Perkatory Coffee Roasters. No formal complaint was made in the incident, according to police. The incident was reported by a “concerned citizen” on Wednesday afternoon.

“MPD responded to Perkatory with some at-home test kits for their staff and restocked them with N95 masks provided by our Health Department,” the department said in a statement posted to Facebook.
