BONIFAY, Fla. (WDHN)— Three residents of Geneva County were arrested in Bonifay on drug and gun charges early Friday morning.
Just after midnight on April 29, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Highway 79 for a traffic issue.
Police say they determined Mitchell Williams of Geneva was the driver of the car. While talking to an officer, Williams gave consent for police to search the vehicle, where he then admitted to having methamphetamine in his pocket, according to the HCSO.
During the vehicle search, police say they found a pipe with methamphetamine that belonged to Jennifer Stowers of Samson, who was a passenger in the vehicle.
Also found in the vehicle was a purse belonging to a second passenger, identified as Christine Platt of Geneva. Inside the purse that Platt had in her lap was a loaded handgun, according to police. Platt told deputies that she did not have a concealed weapons permit.
Mitchell Williams is charged with possession of methamphetamine. Stowers is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Platt is charged with carrying a concealed firearm without a permit.
