A new store is set to open in the city's Clarendon Park in the new year, offering specialist advice to fans of coffee and tea, giving them the know-how to make a cracking cuppa at home.

Described as a tea and coffee merchants, Soar Coffee is being opened by local resident and experienced hospitality worker Nasser Saleh - who says his focus has always been on great coffee and delivering amazing customer service.

Now, with his new business, named after the river that runs through Leicester, he aims to use his passion and knowledge to offer a unique service in the area.

He told LeicestershireLive: "The main focus of the store is to speak to a specialist and figure out what you, the customer, enjoys by trying a few different types of coffees and take some coffee beans, tea and even brewing equipment, home with you to enjoy in the comfort of your home."

There will be a brew bar, where the Soar Coffee team will be making coffees with different methods such as espresso, French press, AeroPress, or pour-over coffee such as v60 or Chemex, and explaining the differences between them.

Customers will also have the chance to make a drink themselves, and coffees, teas and hot chocolates will be available to purchase to take away.

"I hope to help the locals get an insight into the world of coffee and what process each different coffee goes through to give it its unique flavour," continued Nasser, adding that there are more flavours and aromas in coffee than in wine (250 in wine compared to more than 800 in coffee).

The shop itself will have a very minimalist look, with the focus being on the range of freshly roasted coffees, specialist teas and range of equipment and accessories such as reusable cups, kettles, grinders and milk pitchers.

It is hoped that Soar Coffee will be ready to open in February.
