Bailiffs have been called in to take possession of a Cheltenham coffee shop premises. Triple Two Coffee had said just last month how it hoped to reopen its Cheltenham franchise as soon as possible after struggling to recover since the pandemic.

But now a bailiff notice has been put up on the shop front of the outlet which states the landlord has taken possession of the space. The notice also warns if anyone were to attempt to enter the property it would be classed as a criminal offence.

The latest development comes just weeks after the coffee shop unexpectedly closed its doors "for the foreseeable future". Company bosses pointed to "operational issues" following the Covid pandemic.

Head of openings and business development manager Rafael Agrizzi told Gloucestershire Live in April: “We are closing for the foreseeable future until we can deal with the operational issues that are happening. As you probably know, Covid affected numerous businesses, etc, and our franchisee in Cheltenham unfortunately was one of those businesses that got affected.

“We are now working with the landlord for the best outcome so we can reopen the unit as soon as we can as we love Cheltenham. We are working hard to reopen as soon as we can so that we can get back to serving our wonderful customers.”

“Our brand is still growing with 22 operational units and we will be opening a further 15 by the end of this year, with a recent unit that we have opened in Farringdon this month and also opening our next unit in Luton next week followed by Cardiff, Fresh Wharf, Poplar, Reading and Bromley.”
