The news comes on the heels of a year full of pivots for the historic hotel, located across from the Washington Monument.

Hotel Revival's first-floor restaurant space — in use as a ghost kitchen for much of the pandemic — will become a cafe later this year.

The Mount Vernon hotel on Tuesday announced plans to open 'Dashery, a breakfast-and-coffee shop, sometime in the second quarter. Though the dining space has seen a flurry of temporary concepts in the past year, 'Dashery will be the first permanent replacement for Square Meal, a full-service restaurant that previously operated in the space.

The cafe will be run by Infuse Hospitality, a Chicago-based management and consulting company that specializes in developing restaurant and entertainment concepts for hotels and commercial buildings. The Infuse portfolio encompasses more than 60 locations in 26 states and Canada, including a flagship concept, Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea.

'Dashery will take design inspiration from the haberdashery, a shop specializing in clothes and accessories for men. The name also nods to the coffee shop's quick-service, dash-in, dash-out concept. The space was designed by Streetsense, SM+P are the lead architects and HITT is the general contractor for the project.

The news comes on the heels of a year full of pivots for the historic hotel, located across from the Washington Monument. Since the start of the pandemic, Hotel Revival has offered up kitchen space at no charge to several local dining concepts, including Fuisine, Sporty Dog Creations and, most recently, the Urban Oyster, which is still operating out of the ghost kitchen. Urban Oyster Jasmine Norton said the seafood spot will continue using the kitchen there for the foreseeable future.

In September, the hotel also debuted Topside Outside, a temporary outdoor dining space that took over its valet lane on Monument Street. The concept is set to return later this year, Hotel Revival officials said Tuesday.

'Dashery will join another permanent dining concept, Topside, which serves dinner and drinks on the hotel's top floor.
