COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — At today’s regularly scheduled Coffee County Commission meeting, EMA Director James Brown had some good news to share.

Brown told the commission the number of positive cases, hospitalizations, and deaths continue to go down both locally and statewide.

Health officials say the vaccine may be helping in this regard, but no one is quite sure for the declining number of coronavirus cases

“But this is about a quarter of as many as we saw about a month ago,” Brown said. “So this is a really good drop, a 75 percent drop.”

Despite the declining numbers, Brown wants to reminds citizens that the state mandate remains in effect until March 5.
