BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Some Broken Arrow students are making artwork for a local coffee shop dedicated to hiring adults with disabilities.
Leisure Park Elementary students say they want to support Not Your Average Joe.
They started making artwork to be displayed throughout the coffee shop.
The students recently made ornaments and snowflakes. Next, they’re working on fun decorations for Valentine’s Day.
The coffee shop opened in Broken Arrow in the fall of 2021, and has several locations in Oklahoma City.
It’s located at 800 West Mission Street in the Emerson Orthodontics building by St. John.
Not Your Average Joe is a nonprofit, and they say around 80 percent of adults with disabilities are unemployed. They hope to help change that statistic.
