Belmont’s Melanie McIntyre knows she’s got a lot on the line.

The 41-year-old said she pressed pause on her marketing career earlier this year in the hopes of bringing to life a perky little coffee shop venture in Belmont she named The Wandering Cup

Called The Wandering Cup, it launched last week inside the same space that houses A Little Bit of Art, at 900 South Fork Village Drive, Suite G2.

For McIntyre, it’s a chance to realize a long held dream of doing her own thing and going her own way.

If she’s being honest though, she said pitching aside a stable career in the middle of a pandemic is also just a bit terrifying. Before becoming co-owner and operator of The Wandering Cup, she’d spent nearly a decade with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in Charlotte and had made friends she didn’t want to say goodbye to.
